In this 1 hour workshop you will experiment with a variety of substances to create abstract images using light sensitive paper.
What is a lumen?
To create a lumen print, objects are arranged on on light sensitive paper and exposed to day light for anywhere from 1-24+ hours. Lumen printing date back to the beginnings of camera-less photography in 1830s when William Henry Fox Talbot made his "photogenic drawings." The outcomes vary depending on the exposure time & season, however each print tends to capture the fleeting beauty of nature and botanical forms. This process can be translated to non-darkroom spaces, once you've been introduced to the basics you will be able to create lumen prints from the comfort of your home.
